Cruise the Mediterranean While Wine Tasting

Cruising the Mediterranean is becoming more and more popular and is no longer only the holiday of choice for the over 50’s. With many cruise deals around, and many types of cruises available there is something for everyone.

For example you can now combine cruising, with wine tasting – Something which was previously unheard of. Imagine being able to go from country to country in luxury, and being able to visit wineries and sample some of the old world’s best vintages as you travel in style. Princess Cruise Lines has launched just that: An industry first offering a Mediterranean cruise with an integrated wine tasting at wineries at every ports of call. At each port several Adventure and Entertainment Shore Excursions are offered including the one day tour excursion for tours of wineries and wine tasting are offered at almost every port. Most of the wineries included in the excursions offer snacks with their wine and a few offer lunches served with marvelously divine vintages.

Imagine visiting the Chateau Maucaillou’s Museum of Wine Arts and Techniques and then having a lunch of regional specialties and wine at the Medoc Chateau. Afterwards return to the ship to spend the evening cruising to the next port, to another fine winery. Visit the Chateau Cremat outside Nice while at Monte Carlo. Smell and taste the sweet ambrosia of the muscatel grapes used in Malaga, Spain’s famous Malaga Virgen, or visit Barcelona’s Bodegas Torres for wine tasting with a snack. Segura Vidas wine cellar offers Segura Vidas’ Brut Vintage and Creu de Lavit white wine for their visitors to taste after touring their cellars. Each port, each countryside has their own special wines to sample between cruising of the evening. Each winery offers their own special spectacular wines for sale for their visitors to take back to the cruise ship or home to continue enjoying their aromas and flavors.

Cruising upon the Grand Princess on the Mediterranean is spectacular in its own right. After a day of touring and wine tasting, sitting upon the deck with a glass of the wine of the day, looking out over the Mediterranean and into the sky is a perfect ending for a wonderful wine filled day.
